La recuperación del turismo peruano va viento en popa gracias al impulso de la conectividad aérea. Según el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur), el país ya opera 48 rutas internacionales que lo conectan con 22 países de América y Europa, alcanzando así el 91% del tráfico aéreo internacional registrado en 2019.
La ministra Desilú León destacó la llegada de nuevas aerolíneas, como Turkish Airlines, que unirá Lima con Estambul a fines de 2025, así como el lanzamiento de rutas como Lima-Curazao, Lima-Florianópolis y Lima-Orlando. Además, Plus Ultra aumentará su frecuencia en la ruta Lima-Madrid, que ahora contará con 33 vuelos directos semanales.
En el ámbito nacional, Perú cuenta con 25 rutas domésticas activas y siete aerolíneas peruanas operando en todo el territorio. JetSmart, por ejemplo, acaba de incorporar un nuevo Airbus A320neo, elevando en un 38% su frecuencia de vuelos semanales.
El nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez será clave en esta expansión. “Será el más moderno de la región y potenciará la imagen del Perú como destino turístico de primer nivel”, subrayó la ministra.
