La Asociación Peruana de Turismo Receptivo e Interno (APOTUR) resaltó la inauguración del nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, que inicia operaciones este 15 de mayo, como un hito estratégico para posicionar al Perú como hub regional sudamericano. Claudia Medina, vicepresidenta del gremio, enfatizó que esta infraestructura mejorará la experiencia del viajero y reforzará la conectividad con los principales mercados emisores de turistas.
Medina valoró la implementación de la marcha blanca, que permitirá optimizar la transición hacia una gestión aeroportuaria más eficiente. Asimismo, subrayó la necesidad de fortalecer la articulación público-privada, mejorar los accesos al terminal y garantizar la seguridad en las rutas conexas, aspectos clave para preservar la imagen país.
Entre las estrategias propuestas para aprovechar el nuevo aeropuerto, APOTUR sugirió implementar un programa de stopover en Lima, campañas de promoción en mercados prioritarios y la apertura de nuevas rutas interregionales hacia destinos con potencial turístico. Estas medidas buscan estimular el flujo de visitantes internacionales y diversificar la oferta.
“Esta nueva etapa consolida al Perú como destino de clase mundial”, afirmó Medina, reiterando el compromiso del sector con un turismo receptivo sostenible y descentralizado. El gremio confía en que el moderno terminal, con capacidad para 30 millones de pasajeros anuales, impulsará el crecimiento del sector y la economía nacional.
