Hablar del desarrollo turístico en México es hablar del nombre Bojórquez, una familia que ha dejado huella durante más de seis décadas. El legado comenzó con Don Alberto Bojórquez y doña Delfina, pioneros del turismo nacional, y hoy continúa con su hijo, Armando Bojórquez Patrón, quien ha convertido el sueño de sus padres en una empresa modelo del siglo XXI, comprometida con la promoción cultural, la conectividad y la identidad latinoamericana.
Desde muy joven, Armando Bojórquez se vinculó al turismo a través de la empresa familiar Viajes Bojórquez, desempeñándose como guía, director de finanzas, operaciones y más tarde como director general. Actualmente es presidente de Operadora Turística Bojórquez, propietario de la marca Bojórquez y de su red de franquicias, así como director de Hoteles Bojórquez y de la marca Casa Real, con presencia en diversas ciudades mexicanas y planes de expansión.
Su compromiso con el sector va más allá del ámbito empresarial. Ha ocupado cargos de alto nivel como presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de Agencias de Viajes (AMAV), asesor del secretario de Turismo de la Ciudad de México, Miguel Torruco, y coordinador de turismo de la CONCANACO SERVYTUR. Además, fue presidente de la Confederación de Organizaciones Turísticas de América Latina (COTAL), donde representó a México ante ministros de turismo de diversos países y recibió la bendición del Papa Francisco en el Vaticano.
Durante su reciente visita al Perú, Bojórquez se mostró entusiasmado por las oportunidades de cooperación entre ambos países. “Estamos aquí porque muchas personas quieren vivir la experiencia de Perú. Este es el momento de promover conjuntamente nuestro legado turístico”, afirmó. Durante su estancia, también anunció la próxima presentación de su libro “Legado Bojórquez”, una obra que recorre su trayectoria y la historia fundacional de Cancún, ciudad con profundas raíces familiares para él.
Armando resaltó la necesidad de fortalecer la conectividad aérea entre México y Perú para fomentar el turismo bilateral, especialmente en sectores como el turismo gastronómico y religioso. “El turismo es humanismo”, subrayó, convencido de que la esencia de esta industria está en tender puentes culturales y emocionales entre los pueblos. Como presidente de la Asociación para la Cultura y el Turismo de América Latina (ACTUAL), sigue trabajando por la integración regional, con más de 30 países asociados.
Reconocido dentro y fuera de México, Bojórquez ha recibido premios y distinciones como el Premio al Mérito Turístico de la AMAV, el Micrófono de Oro, el Ícaro de Plata, y un Doctorado Honoris Causa, entre otros. Su historia es la de un hombre que ha hecho del turismo no solo una vocación empresarial, sino una herramienta de unión y orgullo latinoamericano.
