El Organismo Supervisor de la Inversión en Infraestructura de Transporte de Uso Público (Ositrán) impuso una sanción de 572.84 Unidades Impositivas Tributarias (UIT), equivalente a aproximadamente S/ 2,9 millones, a Lima Airport Partners (LAP), concesionaria del Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, tras detectar graves deficiencias en los vidrios instalados en la Nueva Torre de Control.
Durante labores de supervisión, Ositrán verificó que los cristales del puesto de observación presentan un nivel de reflejo interno superior al 10 %, límite máximo comprometido por LAP en sus propias especificaciones técnicas. Este exceso fue confirmado mediante pruebas de laboratorio y evaluaciones especializadas, que evidenciaron un riesgo directo para la seguridad operacional, especialmente en horarios nocturnos.
El reflejo excesivo afectó la visibilidad desde la torre, limitando su uso a operaciones diurnas y reduciendo significativamente su funcionalidad. Esta situación incluso agravó el impacto del incidente de luces en la pista antigua, ocurrido el 2 de junio de 2024, al restringir la capacidad de respuesta y monitoreo de los controladores.
La multa forma parte de un conjunto de acciones de fiscalización en curso por parte de Ositrán, que también investiga otros posibles incumplimientos de LAP, como los plazos de entrega del nuevo Terminal de Pasajeros y la prestación del servicio de abastecimiento de combustible. El primer reporte oficial de nivel de servicio de la nueva infraestructura aeroportuaria será publicado el próximo 15 de junio.
