El ministro de Transportes, Raúl Pérez , anunció que la inauguración del nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez se realizará 15 días después de que el concesionario Lima Airport Partners (LAP) levante las observaciones pendientes. Estas incluyen las realizadas por Ositrán , el MTC y Osinergmin . Pérez explicó que, tras la postergación, se llevarán a cabo nuevas pruebas y se completarán las que aún están pendientes para garantizar la operatividad del terminal.
Por su parte, los gremios aeronáuticos, como IATA , AETAI y ALTA , destacaron la necesidad de realizar pruebas más exhaustivas. Señalaron que es crucial simular un escenario de operación real con mayor volumen de pasajeros, equipajes y aeronaves, así como garantizar la familiarización y capacitación del personal. Además, alertaron sobre fallas en sistemas clave, como el BHS (sistema de manejo de equipajes) y el HBS , que aún no han sido resultados.
Mientras tanto, LAP continúa trabajando para superar las observaciones y cumplir con los estándares de seguridad y eficiencia requeridos. La apertura del nuevo aeropuerto, considerada un hito para la conectividad del país, sigue siendo esperada, aunque sin una fecha definitiva.
