Con un valor de US$ 935 millones en exportaciones , la papa peruana y sus derivados aterrizaron en 18 países durante el primer trimestre del año, según informó la Asociación de Exportadores (ADEX). EE.UU., Chile y España lideraron la demanda, concentrando juntos el 75,8% del total exportado .
La presentación en snacks fue la favorita de los mercados internacionales, con productos como hojuelas de papas nativas con Sal de Maras, papas sabor jalapeño o limón. También se exportaron papas congeladas, secas, en polvo y puré.
ADEX destacó que el auge de la gastronomía peruana impulsa esta creciente demanda global. La papa, orgullo de los Andes, celebra cada 30 de mayo su Día Nacional , con más de 3.500 variedades nativas que sustentan la economía de millas de familias altoandinas. En 2024, el país exportó papá en todas sus presentaciones por más de US$ 6,5 millones .
