El nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez dio un paso decisivo hacia su inauguración programada para el 29 de enero de 2025, al realizar con éxito su primer vuelo de prueba este sábado. La prueba incluyó un vuelo chárter sin pasajeros de la aerolínea Star Perú, que despegó desde la pista 1 del terminal actual y aterrizó en la nueva pista 2, completando una simulación operativa en solo 15 minutos.

El ejercicio evaluó el cumplimiento de los estándares de seguridad y eficiencia necesarios para la operación del moderno terminal. Además, se realizaron pruebas en tierra con más de 300 personas, incluyendo trabajadores y pasajeros simulados, quienes verificaron los procesos de check-in, control de seguridad y embarque, aprovechando la tecnología tomográfica para agilizar la revisión de equipaje.

Este simulacro forma parte del programa ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer), diseñado para garantizar la integración de sistemas y procedimientos. Según Diego Cuesta, Project Manager de Lima Airport Partners (LAP), estas pruebas permiten identificar oportunidades de mejora y asegurar un inicio de operaciones sin contratiempos.

Con este hito, el nuevo Jorge Chávez se perfila como un referente de infraestructura aeroportuaria en la región, ofreciendo tecnología avanzada y procesos optimizados para brindar a los pasajeros una experiencia de viaje segura y eficiente.
